Cook the rice:In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15–18 minutes (or according to package instructions). Fluff and set aside.
Cook the sausage:Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook for about 5–7 minutes, until browned and heated through.
Add the broccoli:Toss the broccoli into the skillet with the sausage. Add a splash of water (1–2 tbsp) and cover for 3–4 minutes to steam slightly.
Season:Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper over everything. Stir well and cook uncovered for another 2–3 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp.
Assemble:Serve the sausage and broccoli over the rice. Mix together or keep layered—your call.
