September Product Roundup: New Snacks, Drinks & More I Tried

Discover the September food products I tried this month, from protein-packed cheese crisps and avocado oil snacks to cookies and sparkling soda.

An elegant September calendar surrounded by dried flowers and decorative elements, offering ample copy space.

One of my favorite parts of being a dietitian is getting to try new food products and discover brands that are doing something a little different. Every month, I come across new snacks, drinks, and pantry staples that catch my attention, whether it’s an interesting ingredient, a convenient source of protein, a new flavor, or simply a product that makes eating well a little more enjoyable.

This month’s roundup has a little bit of everything. I tried crispy cheese snacks, potato chips made with avocado oil, veggie snacks, a seasonal sparkling soda, and cookies inspired by a 100-year-old family recipe. As always, my goal with these roundups isn’t to label foods as “good” or “bad,” but to share products I think are worth knowing about and highlight some of the nutrition features that make them interesting.

Here are the products that made my September food product roundup!

ParmCrisps

If you love cheese and crunchy snacks, ParmCrisps are definitely worth trying. These oven-baked crisps are made with 100% real cheese and just a few premium ingredients, making them a simple option for anyone looking for a crunchy snack with plenty of flavor.

One of the things that stood out to me nutritionally is the 13 grams of protein per serving. They’re also naturally gluten-free and sugar-free and are relatively low in carbohydrates compared with many traditional crackers and chips.

I especially like the versatility of a product like this. You can eat ParmCrisps straight from the bag, but they can also be used as a crunchy topping for salads or soups, paired with fruit, or served alongside your favorite dip.

From a dietitian’s perspective, I love having convenient snack options that can help add protein to the day without requiring any preparation.

Dietitian takeaway: A crunchy, savory snack with a significant amount of protein per serving and a short ingredient list.

Popchips

Potato chips are one of those foods that I think can absolutely have a place in a balanced diet. The key is finding options that you genuinely enjoy and incorporating them into your overall eating pattern.

Popchips caught my attention because of how they’re made. Rather than being traditionally deep-fried, Popchips use heat and pressure to create their signature texture. According to the brand, this results in 50% less fat than traditional fried potato chips.

Popchips are also made with simple ingredients and are gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO, and vegan.

Another thing I appreciate about products like this is that they can provide the experience you’re looking for when you want something crunchy and salty without necessarily reaching for a traditional fried chip.

And let’s be honest: sometimes you just want a chip!

Dietitian takeaway: Nutrition isn’t about eliminating foods like chips. Products like Popchips can be one option to consider when you’re looking for a lighter-style crunchy snack.

Good Health Potato Chips & Veggie Snacks

Good Health has several snack options that caught my attention this month, particularly its Potato Chips and Veggie Snacks.

The Potato Chips are made with 100% avocado oil and contain 30% less fat than traditional potato chips, according to the brand. They also contain no hydrogenated oils.

The Veggie Snacks are another fun option. They’re made with real vegetables and contain no added sugar, artificial colors, or preservatives.

I always encourage clients to look beyond the front of the package and consider the entire nutrition profile of a food. Ingredients are one piece of the puzzle, but so are things like portion size, protein, fiber, sodium, and—perhaps most importantly—whether you actually enjoy eating it.

These are the kinds of snacks that can be easy to keep on hand for when you need something convenient.

Dietitian takeaway: Good Health offers several crunchy snack options with thoughtfully selected ingredients, including snacks made with avocado oil and real vegetables.

Culture Pop Sparkling Apple

I’m always excited when one of my favorite brands comes out with a new flavor, and Culture Pop is welcoming fall with its limited-edition Sparkling Apple flavor.

The flavor is crisp and not overly sweet, making it feel especially appropriate for the fall season. The new flavor comes in a distinctive gold can and contains no refined sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and more than 2 billion live probiotics per can, according to the brand.

And I have to say, apple is such a fun fall flavor. It’s a nice alternative when you’re craving something festive but don’t necessarily want a traditional sugary soda.

I also like that sparkling beverages can add some fun and variety to your day without needing to be reserved for a special occasion.

Dietitian takeaway: If you’re a fan of sparkling drinks, Culture Pop’s seasonal Sparkling Apple flavor is a fun one to try this fall.

Joy Supply Cookies

And now for the cookies!

Joy Supply is a new cookie brand inspired by old-world baking traditions and founder Lindsay Leopold’s great-grandfather’s 1908 bakery. The concept is refreshingly simple: cookies made with ingredients like regeneratively farmed whole-grain oats, real butter, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients.

The recipes are inspired by the original family bakery and are baked in Brooklyn.

Joy Supply launched with four flavors:

  • Classic Oat: Buttery, crisp, and based on the original 1908 recipe.
  • Dark Chocolate Chip: A richer take on the classic chocolate chip cookie.
  • Salted Peanut: A sweet-and-salty combination with a nutty flavor.
  • White Chocolate Raspberry: A bright combination of white chocolate and raspberry.

One of the things I love about this brand is the story behind it. Lindsay was previously the Culinary Director of Martha Stewart and has experience helping hundreds of brands come to market. Joy Supply is her first personal brand.

And the packaging is gorgeous enough that these would make a really fun hostess gift or addition to a gift basket.

Of course, cookies are still cookies—and that’s okay! I don’t think we need to turn every dessert into a “healthy” food. Sometimes the goal is simply to make a delicious cookie with quality ingredients and enjoy it.

Dietitian takeaway: Joy Supply is a fun option if you appreciate traditional baking, simple ingredients, and a great food story behind the brand.

Tofu Go Savory Protein Snack

One of the most unexpected products I tried this month was TofuGo—a savory, portable tofu snack that makes getting plant-based protein on the go much easier.

Tofu probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think about grab-and-go snacks, but that’s exactly what makes TofuGo so interesting. The shelf-stable snack comes in Soy BBQ and Spicy Chili, with each pack containing three individually wrapped tofu squares. Each pack provides 12 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, and 0 grams of sugar, according to the brand.

The texture is firm and chewy, and the flavors are definitely geared toward someone who prefers savory snacks over sweet protein bars. The Soy BBQ has a savory, soy-sauce-inspired flavor, while the Spicy Chili has a little more heat and Sichuan peppercorn.

As a dietitian, one of the things I really like about TofuGo is that the protein is coming from tofu rather than a protein isolate or powder. Tofu is a complete plant protein, meaning it provides all nine essential amino acids.

It’s also incredibly convenient. There’s no cooking, refrigeration, or preparation required—you can toss a pack into a gym bag, purse, lunchbox, or travel bag and have a savory protein option available when hunger hits.

I think this is particularly interesting for people who are tired of the seemingly endless selection of sweet protein bars and shakes. If you prefer savory foods, TofuGo offers a completely different way to add protein to a snack.

Dietitian takeaway: If you’re looking for a portable, plant-based snack with 12 grams of protein and prefer savory over sweet, TofuGo is definitely one to put on your radar.

Tubby Todd × Sockerbit Black Cherry Collaboration

For a fun non-food find this month, I had to include the Tubby Todd × Sockerbit Black Cherry collaboration. Just in time for Halloween, Tubby Todd has partnered with Swedish candy brand Sockerbit for a limited-edition collection featuring the nostalgic Black Cherry scent.

The collaboration combines Tubby Todd’s gentle, family-friendly skincare formulas with Sockerbit-inspired packaging that feels playful and festive for fall. The scent features notes of tart açaí, juicy cherry, and sweet almond, creating a fruity fragrance that feels especially fun for the Halloween season.

I love when brands take a familiar seasonal theme and do something unexpected with it, and this collection definitely caught my attention. The packaging is colorful and playful without feeling overly “Halloween,” making it something that can easily transition throughout the fall.

If you’re already a Tubby Todd fan or looking for a fun seasonal skincare addition for your family, this limited-edition collaboration is worth checking out while it’s available.

My takeaway: A playful fall collaboration that combines gentle skincare with a nostalgic candy-inspired scent—and the Black Cherry packaging is especially fun for the Halloween season.

My September Food Finds

This month’s roundup had a theme I really appreciate: food doesn’t have to be complicated to be enjoyable.

Whether it’s a protein-packed cheese crisp, a crunchy potato chip, a seasonal sparkling drink, or a buttery cookie, there’s room for all of these foods in a balanced eating pattern.

As a dietitian, I don’t believe in categorizing foods as simply “healthy” or “unhealthy.” Instead, I like looking at the bigger picture: What nutrients does the food provide? What role does it play in your diet? Do you enjoy it? Does it fit your preferences and nutrition needs?

That’s ultimately what I look for when I’m trying new products—and hopefully these monthly roundups give you a few new foods to add to your own grocery list!
