- 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 red onion thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- salt to taste
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add string beans and cook 3–5 minutes, until just tender but still bright green. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red onion and cook 3–4 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
Add the green beans, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
Cook another 2–3 minutes, letting the beans soak up the flavor. Taste and adjust seasoning with more soy sauce or salt if needed.
Serve hot as a side dish.
